Vertigo Effect in a Miniature World

Joël Kuhn and I had the idea to try out the vertigo-effect. We built up a miniature set of the scene in the first movie of Lord of the Rings, where they used this effect. We built up and shot the set in the studio. Additionally to the vertigo we took some other shots to create a short video.
I used the first time the programm “Apple Color” for  color correction and giving the film the last tweak in postproduction.

Philipp Condrau and I had the idea to make a short stopmotion video every sunday.
One of us starts with a stroke. The other one carries on and so on and so forth. None uf us knows how it will look like in the end.
We already did these kind of cartoons some years ago but not as a stop-motion video:

Here are some examples:

Analog Photography (Pentax K1000)

I went out with Joël Kuhn to shoot some random experimental photos. We just wanted to exercise with the processes of taking photos, developing the film and enlarging or scanning.

Making of “Pod’Ring”

During the summer holidays Joël Kuhn, Simon Maurer, Tobias Jehle and I made an Event-Film about a cultural festival in the middle of Biel (Switzerland), called Pod’Ring. After one week of filming we had 27 hours of footage, which we cut down to 13 minutes.

The film aims to mediate the unique athmosphere of this festival while exploring the background of the different departments such as organisation and structure. It also contains several impressions of the environment, concerts and the audience.
